2012 Mystery quilt Treasure Hunt!
Come on a treasure hunt with us! Sorry,this adventure is only available to local quilters who can come in person to get their "clue" each month. We will have a BOM soon when our far-a-way friends can participate, so stay tuned for that!
For this mystery treasure you must bring the following "equipment" to the hunt. We know what the final treasure looks like so we can help you decide what goes where!
For the lap/twin treasure, you will need the following:
2 yards background
1 1/2 yards of medium light
1 1/2 yards of medium dark
1 3/4 yards of dark
2 yards border which can be one of the above fabrics or a different one.
4 yards backing
For the full/queen size you will need:
3 yards background
2 1/4 yards medium light
2 yards medium dark
2 1/2 yards dark
2 1/2 yards border
1 yard binding
6 yards backing
Contrast is everything. Make sure your background choice has strong contrast to your other three. The fabrics color is not as important as its value. Use one color for a monochromatic scheme or as many as four colors for somrthing more scrappy looking.
This is a six part series. Each step sill have some cutting and piecing instructions. Construction of this quilt requires basic rotary & machine piecing skills.
